2014 Big “Starters”
The PMCC (4th Watch) Singapore is welcoming the new year 2014 with all enthusiasm and positivism that God has a lot in store for the church more than what they had of the passed year.
“Start with a bang” and let us keep the fire of serving the Lord, said the Local Head Minister-in-charge, Sis.Donna Robles.
At the very first Sunday of the new year, the local church has set forth a New Year Fellowship to further build up good and better relationship among brethren; and the remaining Sundays of the beginning month are focused on the “Global Mission & Local Ministries” putting the Singapore church in total alignment with the vision of the Church in general and the global mission in the Southeast Asia region in particular.
“A Merry New Year Fellowship” (Jan. 5, 2014)
A much anticipated celebration party, the New Year Fellowship was held in the congregation hall on 5th of January 2014.
It was started with a loud praising and adoration through the Divine Worship in the morning, followed by the Lunch Fellowship, and the New Year Program in the afternoon. The place was filled with enthusiastic brethren, ready to play games and with their gifts for exchange during afternoon fellowship. Programmes include “Do and act a snapshot”, “Trip to Jerusalem”, “Pinoy Henyo”, “Bible drill” “Find a word and spell”, “Pass the message”, and of course a very joyful raffle draw at the end. Full of laughters and excitement, indeed…. a merrier than merry to begin a new year!
“Missionary Day” (Jan.12, 2014)
Simultaneous with the ongoing International Missionary Day on January 12, 2014 being held in Marikina City, Philippines, the PMCC Singapore is celebrating this blessed Sunday by way of fulfilling God’s great commission of preaching the gospel. Mark 16:15-16 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” As God’s children, we should put this in our hearts and do take part in His great commission. Many brethren on that same day went to Toa Payoh Garden to hold a missionary afternoon activity sharing the gospel to our fellow Filipinos.
Ministries Sundays: “One Mission, Eight Ministries” (Jan.19 & 26, 2014)
The Singapore church has created eight local ministries which were introduced for two consecutive Sundays. This is aimed at encouraging church members to join and be willing to be a part of certain ministry of his/her choice. Each ministry OIC speaks about their respective ministry putting a better perspective of what particular ministry does, explains an overview of the goals, and how it will promote holiness and service to God.
These eight ministries are the Evangelism Ministry, Music Ministry, The Word Ministry, Ushering Ministry, Children’s Ministry, Media and Arts Ministry, Program&Activity Ministry, and the Website & IT ministry. Each of this ministry has formed respective teams and each team continue to invite brethren who are willing to join to expand the members of each ministry. By doing so, it will help expand the ministry resources as well as healthy coordination among church members toward achievement of a common goal or mission.
“We do not compete with each other, but we complement each other”, stressed by the Local Head Minister during the ministries presentation. “Every ministry has its own depth of responsibilities, but each must work together like how each part of one body works together in order to function and grow well”, just as what the book of Ephesians 4:16 said:
“From whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.”
