Praising God in Unity (Kawan Night Presentation)
“He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.” (Isaiah 40:11).
This verse is an assertion that the Lord is certainly a good shepherd to His sheep. He feeds them; He looks for them whenever they’re lost and protects them from a pack of hungry wolves. This is our blessed assurance that we are safe inside the flock of the Lord. This is the very reason we are blissfully serving and praising God, driving each and one another to love and do good works. In order to further strengthen the unity and enthusiasm of each and every member of the flock, the Locale Church of Singapore had its Kawan Night Presentation last July 17, 2011 as part of its Pre-church Anniversary celebration.
Each of the four Kawans had prepared respective song interpretation in-line with theme “Evangelizing the Lost”. The Mizpah Kawan (KL: Sis Amabille Victoria) performed first, subsequently followed by Corinthians (KL: Sis Ruth Lim), Genesis (KL: Bro Alex Victoria), and Filipos (KL: Sis Lolit Mista). All Kawans had a great performance all for the glory of God.
The judges headed by Sis. Donna Robles had a hard time in choosing the winner. The most blessed of all the Kawans was Mizpah. They gracefully interpreted the song “Everything” by Lifehouse. The group demonstrated that ever since the creation, God has provided man with everything that he needs. As a human, he encountered a handful of distractions (money, lust, power) that caused him to slowly drift away from the love of God. In spite man had turned away from God, His love never changed. He will still accept with open arms whenever man pray and ask for forgiveness. This is a good example of how the Lord cares for His children as how the shepherd shows concern for his sheep.
Truly, how good to see our brethren relentlessly serving and praising the Lord in unity! We all look forward to next year’s Kawan Presentation. For sure anyone who wins will definitely for the glory of our living God!
